Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs

My first time at Goodcents. Had the Ultimate Club. Bread is so fresh and soft. Delicious !

I made an order from this location while I am in town studying and they came through with the meal of the day. I was able to enjoy some good food in between studies and will order again before I leave Lincoln.

Quality of food is excellent. Staff are considerate & helpful and the stores are simple & laid out well.

Garlic pepper bread was very good as well as the Penny Club. This was my first time having GoodCents and it is much better than Subway! Good/fast service as well! They need one in Iowa City!

This place has gone to crap. I have visited the drive up several time sin the last month. Everytime they either forget to put something on the sandwich or i end up having to back out of the drive up and leave because of the slow poor quality of service. This is supposed to be fast food. If i had 20 minutes to sit in a drive up lane i would just go sit down someplace and order a three course meal.

My last visit i decided i would just park and go inside to avoid the driveup window delays and driving away with an incomplete sandwich. I parked, left the dog in the truck, went up to the counter and was completely ignored for 15 minutes. I watch the guy preparing two sandwiches in those 15 minutes and needless to say he was slopping everything on the buns in the typical "I HATE MY JOB" fashion. After watching how this guy handled peoples food items for 15 minutes i decided this isnt a place i will be frequenting in the future.

A business doesnt end up with this caliber of employee unless theres a management problem.

Only place I will get subs from. If you are looking for a good sandwich shop this place is it. No more subways for this family.

Had 3 or 4 customer loyalty cards for free 12" or whole 16" Sandwiches (meaning we have purchased 30-40 sandwiches to earn the free ones). We were told today they don't accept their own loyalty cards anymore. Needless to say, we no longer have any loyalty to them either. They did offer us 10% off, so we saved $1, but spent $10 (vs free) so not a great concession. Tables and floors dirty. Dining room uncomfortably cold.

Poor management decision to alienate your most loyal customers. Very disappointed.

I love their sandwiches.

And this is the only praise I can allow this establishment.

Every time I have ordered from Goodcents I have either been told on their website that my sandwich will be delivered several hours later (I would order at noon and the website would say that the order will arrive at 2:00) or I order and, while the website says it will arrive in 20-30 minutes, my food won't arrive for over an hour.

When this happens the quality of the food is adversely affected, as the sandwiches are made when the order is placed. So my family's food will sit for hours before arriving. The bread becomes soggy, the lettuce becomes wilted, and heaven help you if you wanted something warm.

Normally I would look past all of this, grit my teeth, and get my food when I get it. But tonight was a particularly bad experience: We ordered our food just after 7:30pm. Around 8:15pm we get a call saying that the delivery driver was having issues getting back to the store, so our food may be a little late. Granted, our food was already "a little late" BEFORE getting this call, but we politely said "no problem" and continued waiting. Then, around 8:45pm, we get another call explaining that the driver forgot one of our sandwiches. They asked us if we still wanted it because, by the time the driver could get it to us, the store would be closed. We told them of course we still wanted it... we wanted it an hour ago... we then asked if we might see some sort of discount because our food is so tragically late, and will be arriving on two separate trips. The manager told us that she'd have to ask us for all the card information and run it again because we paid online. We told her not to bother. No voucher for a free sandwich, not even a free cookie.

And here we are, 9:15pm, 15 minutes after the store closes, and no sandwich yet...

I appreciate Goodcents for several reasons.
1)Fresh sandwiches that can be as small or as big as I like.
2) That great soda machine that lets me make almost any soda flavor imaginable.
3) Their daily specials
4) PUNCH CARDS. I've gotten many free sandwiches over the years because I always get my card punched whenever I stop for a bite.
5) Prices are competitive and maybe a little less than similar businesses.
6) Convenient location.

My only complaint is that their cookies are flat and thin. It's not much cookie for what I pay.
