NCWM is a 501(c)6 nonprofit association setting the standards for commercial weights and measures in the United States since 1905. NCWM also administers the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) for weighing and measuring devices. State regulatory agencies require that such devices be traceable to an NTEP Certificate of Conformance, demonstrating that the manufacturer is capable of meeting the national standards for design and performance.
