His career exemplifies dedication, leadership, and the positive impact one individual can have on their profession and alma mater. Richter's journey began with the U.S. Navy, where he honed the management skills he gained at Nebraska. His leadership qualities earned him a distinguished service award supporting the Global War on Terror. After his military service, Richter entered the civilian construction industry in Colorado. He initially worked with a company connected to the Department of Defense, helping disadvantaged businesses secure federal construction contracts. In 1997, Richter's path led him to Sampson Construction in Nebraska, where he embarked on a remarkable 27-year tenure. During this period, he managed a diverse portfolio encompassing educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and major retail outlets like Scheels. Notably, his work significantly impacted the University of Nebraska. He oversaw projects like the UNL East Stadium improvement, the Tom & Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex, and the Dinsdale Family Learning Commons, among others. Richter's dedication extended beyond project management. He championed mentorship within Sampson Construction, nurturing the next generation of construction leaders. His commitment to the Construction Management program's internship initiative ensured students gained valuable real-world experience, with many securing positions at Sampson after graduation. Richter's personal connection to the University of Nebraska is undeniable. His family legacy and academic achievements solidify his profound commitment to the institution. Chuck Richter embodies the qualities the Outstanding Alumni Award seeks to recognize. His contributions to the construction industry, his significant impact on the University of Nebraska, and his distinguished military service make him an ideal candidate for this prestigious honor.

    We were honored to be a part of building the new April Sampson Cancer Center at Bryan Health! Witnessing the open house celebration on Saturday was truly inspiring. Seeing the community come together to support this center that brings comfort and healing to patients and families is what makes our work so meaningful.

    Hope has a new address – the April Sampson Cancer Center. 🤞 Thank you to the over 1,400 people who joined our open house celebration on Saturday. It was great to hear your stories and feel your support for this new cancer center that offers comfort and healing to patients and families.

    We are excited about the upcoming Kennedy Square West project, a new 4-story, 62,000 SF multi-family housing complex scheduled to begin late 2023. The team is kickstarting the project, with a subcontractor event on Tuesday, June 6. The event will focus on subcontractor bidding opportunities. All contractors are welcome to join us for this informative gathering.
