  • Please join us in congratulating the 2024 Nebraska Nursing Facility Association Resident of the Year — Connie Williams, resident of South Haven Living Center - Vetter Senior Living in Wahoo! Through her involvement with Resident Council and Food Council, Connie has changed the fabric of activities at the nursing home. She initiated a red hat group and is active in the facility’s Grandmas and Grandpas Give Back program, which makes tie blankets for those in need. Connie is a poet with a beautiful singing voice and shares these talents with her fellow residents. She sends cards to active and veteran military personnel and writes notes to facility team members on their anniversaries and birthdays. At breakfast, she reads the daily activity sheet, creating excitement for the day’s activities and encouraging residents to join in the fun. She’s a true philanthropist, organizing numerous raffles and contests to raise funds for various charities, including One Tree Planted, where she walked the halls calling all to action through bell ringing, songs, and rhythmic poetry. Connie serves as a voice for others, advocating for quality of life and ensuring that residents’ needs are heard and addressed. Congratulations Connie and South Haven Living Center! 🌟 Connie was presented her award in Kearney last week at the 2024 NNFA-NALA Spring Convention.
