  • Brown Immigration Law is proud to announce two new additions to the partnership, Mason Ellis and Caterina Saggio.   Mason and Caterina both joined Brown Immigration Law in 2020, the year of COVID-19. In the past three decades, there have been two moments in our immigration history that standout and were uniquely challenging – the first several years of immigration processing following 9/11 and immigration processing during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The period from March 2020 through the end of 2021 was a true test of character and skill for every immigration attorney, and Mason and Caterina rose to the occasion in every way.   Chief Operating Officer, Cheryl Anderson, SHRM-CP, commented: “Mason and Caterina have consistently exhibited strong leadership skills and a commitment to the firm’s Core Values, truly going the extra mile for our clients and team every day.”   Mason earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and practiced business immigration in Kansas City before relocating to Lincoln, Nebraska to join Brown Immigration. Caterina obtained her Juris Doctor from Università Degli Studi Roma Tre, in Rome, Italy and obtained her L.L.M. from St. John’s University in New York. Prior to joining Brown Immigration, Caterina practiced business immigration in New York City. Mason and Caterina brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm and have continued to be a driving force of growth, leadership, and success for our clients and Brown Immigration Law as a whole.   Founding Partner, Bailey Anderson, had this to say about Mason and Caterina: “We’ve experienced significant growth over the past several years and their keen leadership, skill, and top-tier client service has been a huge part of that. I’m thrilled to have them as Partners and look forward to everything more we will accomplish together.”   Founder and Managing Partner, David Zaritzky Brown, added: “I’m ecstatic with Mason and Caterina joining the Partnership. They are both driven, determined, and relentless in pursuit of positive outcomes for our clients. And perhaps most importantly, they are simply just good people!”   We congratulate Caterina and Mason on their many achievements and look forward to seeing their excellence continue to shine at Brown Immigration Law! #TheBILWay

  • Today USCIS announced the completion of the initial H-1B electronic registration selection process for this year’s lottery. Notably, USCIS had continued to release selection notices for the H-1B lottery up until Saturday (03/30/2024), and we are actively reaching out to our clients to confirm all those selected in the lottery. If you or your employees were not selected, we are offering a Contingency Planning webinar, taking place this Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM central time. We invite you to register here: https://lnkd.in/gUwfwAsv As a reminder, registrations not selected in the lottery will remain on reserve for the applicable fiscal year. If USCIS does not receive and approve enough H-1B petitions to fulfill the statutory quota from the initial lottery, it will run subsequent lotteries and select additional registrants from those on reserve to meet the annual cap. The likelihood of selection and number of draws changes from year to year, making it very difficult to predict how the process will play out this year. The table below provides data from the past four years for reference. Thus, if you are not selected in this initial draw, we remain hopeful that your selection may come from a future pull.

Managing Partner at Brown Immigration Law P.C., L.L.O. - Mission directed visionary leveraging 25+ years of business immigration expertise.

I'm having a bit of a crazy flashback as today marks the 18th Anniversary of Brown Immigration Law! What started as literally just me, sitting in a home office - in my basement using a borrowed desk - is thankfully unrecognizable today! Don't get me wrong, those early years were exciting, challenging, and key to our future success, but 18 years later we have emerged from the cocoon.    I am immensely proud of how far we've come - as our team nears 50 people and 20 attorneys - the firm is no longer about me. It's about the "we" and all that our team does on a daily basis to create opportunities for the brilliant foreign talent we support. As an immigrant myself, I experienced the bureaucracy firsthand, and wanted to ensure people had a level of professional service necessary to dispel the uncertainty and fear that is rife in these situations. I knew I wanted to build a team of talented, compassionate, and forward-thinking individuals to take on the ever-changing immigration landscape and ensure our clients were in great hands. Today, Brown Immigration Law is that and more. We continue to focus our attention on growth, innovation, compassion, and knowledge so that we remain a valuable partner to our remarkable clients. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey - I'm incredibly thankful. #TheBILWay   If you are interested in keeping up with all the great things happening at BIL, follow us on LinkedIn here: Brown Immigration Law P.C., L.L.O.

  • Proud to be led by an executive team that’s two-thirds female! At least half of our attorney team is made up of women as well, among many other outstanding women in our firm. Cheers to the achievements of women worldwide, especially those who fought for the equality and opportunity that paved the way for strong female leadership at BIL. There is still work to do in terms of inclusion and equity, particularly for women of color, but we take today to celebrate how far we have come, and the people that got us here. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #womeninbusiness #womeninlaw #WomensHistoryMonth
