Joy, excitement, cheers and a little rain filled the air during the recent North Texas regional Special Olympics cycling competition held at BNSF’s Fort Worth, Texas, headquarters. This was the 24th year for BNSF to host the event. “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,” the athletes chanted. With more than 50 athletes and 120 BNSF volunteers, the precipitation didn’t hold anyone back. “Special Olympics is an amazing organization to partner with,” Angie Eisen-Lewis, volunteer and BNSF assistant director of customer support, said. “The athletes and the BNSF team members are truly incredible. My family and I look forward to the event every year.” Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and donated food for the event! #specialolympics #communityinvolvement

Every day, our San Bernardino, California, intermodal facility performs more than 2,000 container and trailer lifts. Gate transactions of truck drivers entering and exiting our hub exceed 1,700 each day. To say this hub is a busy place would be an understatement. Even with the continuous activity, our San Bernardino team demonstrates excellence in keeping themselves and others safe by reaching a significant milestone: 500 days injury-free. The team achieved that milestone in March and they continue to stack onto that streak day after day. “Congratulations to the San Bernardino team," Rich Dennison, general manager of the California Division, said. “We appreciate the safety leadership from the team and our ability to produce safely for our customers every day." #safety #safetyculture #freight #rail
