Congratulations to our Monroe Team! This year, the President’s Safety Award – Small Yard was earned by our Monroe facility. The Monroe team earned this award by having a great attitude towards safety, welcoming the EHS Coordinator training and walkarounds, and being 4 years injury-free. Pictured from left to right are facility employees Chad Stricker, Facility Manager Sheila Fry, Doug Fry, Gary Pulver, and Joshua Reynolds. The President’s Safety Award is earned by the operations that show consistent dedication and improvements to safety at all levels within the operation. There are two categories: Large Processing Yard and Small Feeder Yard. The small feeder yard category includes all yards with limited processing equipment such as balers/shears and operate under 50 thousand production hours annually.

Our very own Michael Goldstein is participating in Pedal the Cause this year! Pedal the Cause provides critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children’s Hospital through their annual cycling challenge. Alter is proud to support this cause and Michael!

Today, we celebrate the important contributions and achievements of our facility managers at Alter Trading Corporation. Alter Trading Corporation has proudly supported the Association of Women in the Metal Industry (AWMI) for almost 20 years through the St. Louis, Quad Cities, and Milwaukee chapters. This past week, the AWMI St. Louis Chapter held an Annual Golf Outing at the Forest Park Golf Course. We couldn't pass the chance to show off some of our company's top golfers. In fact, they took FIRST PLACE! The celebration of receiving the 2023 President’s Award for Safety at Milwaukee continues! Our expert pit masters made the most delicious smoked meats on our custom fabricated, “Alter-ized”, triple barrel, competition-grade grill. Many thanks to our employees for taking the time and effort to organize and provide a wonderful lunch last Friday!

Today is International Firefighters' Day! We are proud of our employees that serve as volunteer firefighters, and are appreciative of the opportunities our teams have to work with local fire departments for trainings. Thank you to all firefighters who protect our communities!

The St. Louis Office celebrated the career of CEO Jay Robinovitz with a special luncheon.   The entire Alter team isn’t quite buying Jay’s claim to be retiring, though it could just be we are all in extreme denial. We do know that we will miss working with an individual who has been both a mentor and a friend to so many in our company and in the metal recycling industry.   Jay, your acumen, character, and spirit shines through the whole operation, and will for decades, if not lifetimes to come. Thank you for all the hard work and great times you gave us.   Congratulations!
